Screen Index is a Mac desktop app built to keep your screenshot library and its intelligence on your Mac. This policy explains the limited information involved in the app, on this website, and when you contact us for support.

1. Who we are and what this covers
Screen Index is a product of 854 Labs LLC, an Indiana limited liability company. This policy covers screenindex.app, our support communications, and the Screen Index Mac app; it does not replace the privacy terms of a store or platform you may use to obtain the app.
2. Data Screen Index keeps on your Mac
Screen Index processes and stores screenshots, screenshot contents, OCR text, visual labels, descriptions, search queries, tags, folder records, and Capture Context records on your Mac. The app does not require a Screen Index account. Screenshot recognition uses Apple Vision and Foundation Models system frameworks on your Mac, including SystemLanguageModel and LanguageModelSession.
Screen Index does not send your screenshots, screenshot contents, OCR text, search queries, tags, folders, Capture Context records, or usage activity to 854 Labs or an analytics provider. The app does not include advertising, analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, a third-party updater, or a developer-operated license server. We do not receive, upload, host, sell, or use that local app data for advertising, analytics, or model training.
3. App Store services and links you choose to open
Apple’s App Store services process product information, purchases, transaction verification, and purchase restoration under Apple’s privacy terms. Screen Index uses StoreKit 2 for these App Store functions. We do not send receipts, license data, or purchase records to an 854 Labs server, and we do not operate a server for license validation.
Capture Context can read the active browser tab title and URL locally through macOS Apple Events and store that record on your Mac. When you choose to open a detected link, Screen Index hands the link to your selected browser. That browser handles the request under its own privacy practices.
4. Website information
We do not use Google Analytics, other website analytics, advertising pixels, or behavioral tracking on screenindex.app. Cloudflare processes standard request information, such as IP address, browser or device information, requested pages, and security-related logs, to deliver and protect the site. The site stores your color-theme choice only in your browser’s local storage.
5. Support email
If you email support@854labs.com, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address, message, attachments, and troubleshooting details. Zoho Mail processes this support correspondence for us. We use it to answer you, troubleshoot the product, protect our rights, and meet legal obligations. Please avoid sending personal information unless it is needed for your request.
Support correspondence is deleted within 24 months after the last message in the conversation. Records used to complete a privacy rights request are deleted within 90 days after the request is completed. We may retain a limited record longer only when required by law or reasonably necessary to resolve a security, fraud, payment, or legal dispute, and we delete it when that obligation or dispute ends.
